Buying notes

What to check before you buy chelsea.

What separates a good Chelsea boot?

Elastic recovery, pull-tab strength, and sole traction. If the gusset stretches out or the sole is slick, the boot loses the point of being easy and durable.

Is waterproof worth paying for?

Yes if you commute in rain or slush. For mild weather, treated leather or water-resistant uppers may be enough, but true waterproof claims should mention seams, membrane, or construction.
